Growing Gardeners
Gardening in Schools
Growing Gardeners
Earth Heart Growers offers an original garden curriculum where gardening is connected to standards of education.
Students learn to grow their own food, understand the food cycle from seed to plate, to composting, all while having a hands on experience learning about: soils, life cycles, plants and food and Sustainability.

School Gardens are grown by students from seeds, allowing them to see the full process and understand the different seasons for growing and planting.

Food, Science and Community
Earth Heart Growers is a platform that supports the teaching of sustainability, agriculture, biology, botany, astronomy and more.

With hands in the soil and surrounded by the outdoors students gain
self-control and peace of mind.

Our programs create space for young children to develop healthy relationships with other peers, adults and their environment.
Garden as a Classroom
Our Vision is to create a strong bridge between schools and local farms, educating and empowering the younger generation and preparing them to build a
self-sustainable community.

Our programs address the educational and environmental deficits of children in our most challenged communities.
Earth Heart Growers provides both a fully integrated curricular and programmatic resource, focused on improving the academic, social/emotional, and nutritional well-being of our most at-risk children.

We offer a hands-on experience that deepens the understanding of academic concepts and contributes to physical well-being.
We are also working alongside other local non-profit organizations in effort to support the Charleston natural environment and develop community awareness and increase participation in our students and families.
