About the Event
This course begins by exploring the role of school gardens within the broader Farm to School movement and highlights the numerous research-supported benefits of garden-based education.
By the end of this program, you will have the knowledge and skills to:
Understand the components of school garden infrastructure and plan for planting throughout the school year.
Teach effectively in the school garden using EHG curriculum to managing outdoor classes, with several demonstration lessons included.
Facilitate cooking activities with children, learn food safety guidelines, and discover ways to integrate the garden into the school cafeteria.
Assess the long-term financial and program sustainability of school gardens.
